Hey cuties, it’s time for something light and fun. A peak into my media diet! Don’t expect anything too healthy or profound here but I can guarantee an array of tasty, nourishing, and medicinal-in-their-own-way treats.
Without further ado, here are some things I’m currently addicted to:
Love is Blind UK
I have so many thoughts on this season of the franchise but Vulture recapped it perfectly. The American LIB has become a bit stale, so I am thrilled with this UK spinoff so far even just for a bit more cheeky humour. I’m enjoying this cast of characters, especially the lovable funeral director, Freddie.
Diet Pepsi - Addison Rae
Bottom line: it’s a good song. But also, I can’t help but be impressed by the way this Tik Tok dance girlie has slowly but surely morphed her fame into a genuinely fun music career, with a featured scream on that Charli remix and her other track To Die For (which I also loved). And now this perfect, silly-sexy, Lana-coded banger. Brava!
Anna Marie Tendler. IYKYK. Her debut memoir Men Have Called Her Crazy comes out today (I’m currently trying to decide if I want to get the audiobook or the book-book) and her artful rise from the ashes of her marriage to her ex John Mulaney was one of my main obsessions during the pandemic.
I recently discovered an episode of The Way We Were podcast dissecting their dramatic split that really scratched an itch. The conversation is relatable and fun, and features the fabulous Caroline O’Donahue. A perfect listen for anyone who gets way too invested in celebrity couples.
Otherworld - ‘Them’ series
I have been listening to the paranormal-curious podcast Otherworld since day dot (so many good episodes) but this series blew my dick off. In his signature grounded, uncynical, and curious manner, host Jack Wagner uncovers a gripping story from a group of women from Norway who experienced something pretty insane. I haven’t stopped thinking about it. Good for a long road trip or a series of solo walks.
Angel Of My Dreams - Jade
This song is utterly unique and strange while also being an undeniable pop hit that has fun with references. The chorus has been stuck in my head for a week and I’m not mad about it. Good video too. I’m excited for the album!
“Blew my dick off” got me 😂
